The SI3472B-IM from Skyworks Solutions is a 2-Pair Octal-Port Power Sourcing Equipment Controller IC that has been designed for use in end spans (switches) and midspans (injectors). It requires an input voltage of 50 - 57 V. This controller manages up to eight independent ports and each port is equipped with the necessary detection and classification capabilities by the IEEE standards. It supports powered device disconnect options with a DC-sense algorithm and uses a robust multi-point detection algorithm to detect the PD for power delivery.
This IC includes protection features such as power under-voltage lockout, output current limiting, short-circuit protection, and thermal overload detection for safety.
