The CPZ1062M from Power Integrations is a Load Switch IC that is designed to eliminate energy that is wasted due to switching losses in the clamp and primary switch. It has an input voltage of up to 650 V. This power switch dramatically improve power supply efficiency and can easily exceed it over 95% while maintaining both flexibilities as well as a low component count of the flyback architecture. It is based on a highly flexible active clamp flyback solution that ensures zero voltage switching across all line and load conditions in CCM and DCM operating modes. This power switch IC recycles wasted leakage inductance energy and has low switching losses that permit the use of a high switching frequency to minimize the physical size of the transformer.
The CPZ1062M consists of integrated temperature sensing and hysteretic thermal shutdown mechanisms to protect the IC against short-circuit-related damages. This RoHS-compliant power switch is available in a surface-mount package that measures 5.67 x 11.32 mm and is ideal for 220 W high-density flyback design applications.
