The Si83418AFA-IF from Skyworks Solutions is an 8 Channel Isolated Power Switch IC that is designed for driving resistive and inductive loads like solenoids, relays, and lamps commonly found in industrial control systems like Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). This power switch IC consists of 4 high side switching and 4 low side switching and offers low on-state resistance. It requires a DC supply of 9-32 V for operation and supports logical input signals of up to 5.5 V. This power switch IC is galvanically isolated for safety using Skyworks’ groundbreaking CMOS-based isolation technology. This technology offers better reliability and performance than the traditional optocoupler-based isolation, including high Common-Mode Transient Immunity (CMTI) over 100 kV/µs. 

This power switch IC is capable of delivering 0.7 A under load conditions and has an innovative multi-voltage clamp efficiently that can handle an unlimited amount of demagnetization energy (EAS). It consists of an over-current protection circuit that includes an Inrush Current Mode to drive loads like lamps. The power switch IC can be controlled via the SPI interface and offers 5 kV ESD Protection. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 9 x 9 mm.
