The IPS1025H from STMicroelectronics is a Single High Side Switch that is designed to drive capacitive, resistive, or inductive loads. This switch requires an input voltage from 8 V to 60 V and has a continuous input current of up to +10 mA. It offers two different sets of activation threshold and limitation levels for smart driving the capacitive loads and loads with initial peak current requirements. This power switch consists of an output channel that is protected against junction over-temperature events by a junction temperature sensor. It integrates an additional temperature sensor to monitor the case temperature and hence the over-heated output channel can be turned back ON only when the case temperature returns below the reset temperature. This high-side switch modulates the impedance by limiting the output current thereby ensuring load protection. It also provides fast demagnetization of inductive loads.
This IPS1025H is available in a surface-mount package that measures 10.10 x 10.1 mm and is ideal for programmable logic control, vending machines, industrial PC peripheral I/O, numerical control machines, and general high-side switch applications.
