The IPS1025HFTR from STMicroelectronics is a Single High-Side Switch that is designed to drive resistive, capacitive, or inductive loads with one side connected to the ground. It requires an input voltage of 8.65 - 60 V and has a continuous input current of up to +10 mA. This switch has two different sets of activation thresholds and limitation levels to intelligently drive the capacitive loads and loads with initial peak current requirements. It modulates the impedance to limit the output current, thereby ensuring load protection. This switch uses a junction over-temperature sensor to protect the output channels against junction over-temperature events and includes an additional temperature sensor to monitor the case temperature such that the output channel can be turned back ON only when the case temperature returns below the reset temperature.
The IPS1025HFTR enables fast demagnetization of inductive loads. It combines over-temperature and over-load diagnostic pins to address higher SIL level problems occurring in various IC architectures. This switch is available in a surface-mount package that measures 10.1 x 10.1 mm and is ideal for programmable logic control (PLC), vending machines, industrial PC peripheral I/O, numerical control machines, and general high-side switch applications.
