The MKP1V160G from Littelfuse is an Axial-Leaded SIDAC that is designed for direct interface with the ac power line. It has a break-over voltage of up to 170 V and a break-over current of less than 0.9 A. The Sidac switches from a blocking state to a low voltage on-state on reaching the break-over voltage in each direction. It will continue to conduct till the main terminal current drops below the holding current. This Pb-free Sidac is housed in a glass passivated, plastic axial lead package that provides high pulse current capability and reliability at a low cost. It is available in a through-hole package that measures 0.161 x 0.079 inches and is ideal for triggering gates of SCRs and Triacs, high-pressure sodium vapor lighting, strobes and flashers, ignitors, high voltage regulators, and pulse generator applications.
