The LT4363 from Analog Devices are High Voltage Surge Stoppers that are designed to protect electronic loads from voltage transients. They require an input voltage of 4-80 V. These surge suppressors have an adjustable output clamp voltage and can withstand surges over 100 V with a VCC clamp. They offer reverse input protection up to –60 V and have a quiescent current of less than 7µA during shutdown. These surge protectors control the gate voltage of an external N-channel MOSFET to regulate the output during an overvoltage event. They have two precision comparators to monitor the input supply for overvoltage (OV) and undervoltage (UV) conditions.
These surge protectors are available in surface-mount packages and are ideal for avionic/industrial surge protection, hot swap/live insertion, high-side switches for battery-powered systems, and intrinsic safety applications.
