General environmental conditions for high power semiconductors

Semiconductors housed in plastic packaging are non-hermetic. This means the housings can be permeated by humidity and gases in both directions. Once water molecules are inside the housing, they can reduce the blocking voltage or initiate corrosion. Condensation must be avoided. Due to the importance of climatic conditions, these parameters are highlighted separately in this whitepaper.
