UK AC Power Circuit Wiring Color Codes are specific colors assigned to different wires in AC electrical systems in the United Kingdom and its territories. These color codes guide electricians, technicians, and engineers in identifying various AC power circuit wires for troubleshooting, maintenance, and documentation purposes. The UK AC Power Circuit Wiring Color Code Standards are established by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The wiring color codes for the UK were different from other European countries till 2006. It was standardized to follow wiring standards uniform across all European countries afterwards.
In three-phase systems, the phase wires are denoted by Brown, Black, and Grey colors. The neutral connection is indicated by the Blue color and the earth connection is indicated by Green with a Yellow Stripe while brown wire color is preferred for phase connection in single-phase systems. In a single-phase wiring system, the Phase wire is denoted by Brown color.
