Crane Aerospace and Electronics (A&E), a company known for manufacturing high-reliability power-conversion products and custom hybrids for the aerospace, space, military, medical, industrial, and commercial markets, has introduced a new high voltage DC-DC converter. This converter is a buck-based solution that provides customers an innovative, unmatched power conversion solution. This one-of-a-kind, highly efficient, high-power density DC-DC power converter is engineered to support multiple power sources and cooling options to meet and exceed customer demand.
Key features
Wide Input Voltage Range
This new converter converts an input voltage from 400-800 V to an output voltage of 28 V (±0.5 V). It operates over a temperature range from -45°C to +55°C and has internal conduction-based, self- or liquid cooling mechanisms to maintain the system temperature, especially in high-temperature environments.
Supports Multiple Markets, Multiple Platforms
From large commercial aircraft to eVTOLs and military ground vehicles, Crane A&E’s High Voltage DC-DC Converter offers a wide input range and supports traditional, hybrid-electric, all-electric, and hydrogen fuel cell power sources.
A Power System’s Building Block
Crane A&E’s versatile High Voltage DC-DC Converter offers customers a true electrical power system building block. With tremendous flexibility, our new 4 kW power converter can be paralleled to further increase the output power beyond 4 kW.
High Efficiency
Delivering greater than 96% efficiency, our High Voltage DC-DC Converter packs tremendous power into a small package to enable a light, sustainable, and quieter aircraft.
This converter delivers high efficiency in a compact module that measures 12.24 x 6.04 x 1.525 inches (may vary depending on the choice of cooling method). The design is available with D0-160G environmental protection approval.
