Monolithic Power Systems Unveil 6A Power Module for FPGA and Power ASIC Design

Monolithic Power Systems (MPS), a leading company in high-performance power solutions, has unveiled the MPM54522, a dual 6 A power module that integrates a high-efficiency, step-down DC/DC converter IC, two inductors, and selected passive components into a single over-molded package. The MPM54522's two outputs can be paralleled for up to 12 A of current. This power module offers active current balancing, which allows equal current sharing of the outputs in parallel operation.

The MPM54522 offers a dedicated, configurable low-dropout (LDO) regulator with up to 500 mA of output current (IOUT) for ultra-low noise output. Constant-on-time (COT) control provides a fast transient response and minimizes the required output capacitance.

The MPM54522 provides on-chip non-volatile memory (NVM) to store and restore device configurations. It is available in an ultra-thin ECLGA (5 mm x 6.5 mm x 2.76 mm) package.
