The MP26121DQ-LF-Z from Monolithic Power Systems is a Li-ion/Li-Polymer Linear Battery Charger that is ideal for cell phones, digital cameras, smartphones, MP3 players, and personal digital assistant (PDA) applications. It requires an input voltage of 3.5 - 6.5 V and an input current of 40 µA. This charger integrates a high-voltage input protection, thereby allowing it to handle an input surge voltage of up to +28 V. It operates based on constant current and constant voltage charging modes and the charge currents can be adjusted from 200 mA to 1 A.


This battery charger IC reduces the charge current when the device reaches a high temperature, which guarantees safe operation. It also supports intelligent thermal management capabilities with integrated battery temperature monitoring and a programmable timer. This charger IC is available in a surface-mount package that measures 3 x 3 mm.
