The MIE1W0505BGLVH from Monolithic Power Systems is an Isolated Buck DC-DC converter that converts an input voltage of 3.3-5 V to an output voltage of less than 5 V. It delivers an output power of up to 1 W and has an efficiency of less than 50.5%. This converter integrates power MOSFETs, a transformer, and a feedback circuit into a single chip that ensures high performance in a reduced footprint. It also eliminates the need for a traditional optocoupler and precision reference IC, which further simplifies the design. 

This converter offers protection features such as continuous short-circuit protection (SCP), over-temperature protection (OTP), and a high isolation voltage. It meets EN55032 Class B emissions and operates across a wide temperature range from -40°C to +125°C. This converter is available in a surface-mount package that measures 4.9 x 3.9 mm and is ideal for industrial automation, isolated power supplies for sensors, RS-485/422, CAN interfaces, and telecom/network device applications.
