The TCKE712BNL from Toshiba is a Single Input Single Output eFuse IC that is specifically designed to offer protection to external circuits. It requires an input voltage from -0.3 V to 18 V and provides an output voltage of up to 18 V. This eFuse IC is a CMOS Linear Integrated Circuit Silicon Monolithic solution that can be used as a reusable fuse during abnormal circuit operating conditions. It consists of built-in short-circuit protection, uses an external resistor to provide adjustable over-current limit, embeds an external capacitance to control slew rate, and integrates under-voltage protection (UVP), and FLAG-function to prevent false triggering or over-voltage-related damages.

This protection IC also embeds a switch that closes to block the reverse current to prevent power surges. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 3 x 3 x 0.7 mm and is ideal for power stages of the hard disk drive, battery charging, and portable applications.
