The Bosch VCU from Bosch Mobility Solutions is a Vehicle Control Unit that has been designed to coordinate functions such as torque distribution and thermal management in electric and hybrid vehicles. This electronic control unit (ECU) can also enable the integration of various other functions such as range management, charging management, and predictive strategies for enhanced coordination capabilities. It consists of a 40 nm metal-plastic housed multi-core within the unit.
This ASIL D-certified ECU can be controlled via CAN, Ethernet, and PSI5 interfaces, supports cloud-based solutions, and covers functions for safe vehicle operation in highly automated vehicles during faulty conditions. It leverages high-performance microcontrollers to deliver significant processing power essential for managing complex vehicle systems. This control unit is used in all types of powertrains for passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and in the off-highway segment.
