The ACPL-K30T-000E from Broadcom is an Automotive Qualified Photovoltaic MOSFET Driver that has been designed to drive high-voltage MOSFETs. It requires an input voltage of up to 0.8 V. This AEC-Q100-qualified gate driver integrates an AlGaAs infrared light-emitting diode (LED) input stage and is optically coupled to an output detector circuit that consists of a high-speed photovoltaic diode array and a turn-off circuit. It is turned ON (contact closes) with a minimum input current of 5 mA through the input LED and is turned OFF (contact opens) with an input voltage of 0.8 V or less.
This RoHS-compliant gate driver provides reinforced insulation and reliability that delivers safe signal isolation, which is critical in automotive and high-temperature industrial applications. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 0.268 x 0.230 x 0.125 inches and is ideal for battery insulation resistance measurement/leakage detection, battery management system, and solid-state relay module applications.
