The DGD057UFNQ-7 from Diodes Incorporated is a Low/High-Side Gate Driver IC that is ideal for DC-DC converters, class-D power amplifiers, battery-powered hand tools, and motor control applications. It requires an input voltage of 7-18 V and an input current of 8.2 mA. This gate driver is capable of driving N-channel MOSFETs in a half-bridge configuration. It consists of an internal bootstrap diode and the floating high-side driver is rated up to 100 V in a bootstrap configuration. The logic inputs of this driver are compatible with standard TTL and CMOS levels, enabling it to interface easily with microcontroller units (MCUs). It has fast and well-matched propagation delays (matching allowed up to 10 ns) that support a higher switching frequency, which enables a smaller and more compact power switching design that uses smaller associated components.
This gate driver has an under-voltage lockout (UVLO) mechanism for both the low- and high-side to protect MOSFETs from loss of supply. It also has a logic function to eliminate cross-conduction events by preventing the high- and low-side outputs from being ON at the same time. This RoHS-compliant driver IC is available in a surface-mount package that measures 2.90 x 2.90 mm.
