The 1EDI3038AS from Infineon Technologies is a Single-Channel Isolated SiC-MOSFET Gate Driver that is ideal for traction inverters, auxiliary inverters, high-power onboard chargers, and fail-safe DC/DC converters in hybrid and electric vehicles (HEV/EV) applications. It requires an input voltage of 3-5.5 V. This galvanically isolated driver utilizes coreless transformer technology to enable efficient and reliable operation. It features a low propagation delay of 60 ns, ensuring fast switching performance. This driver provides split outputs (TON and TOFF) for independent control of turn-on and turn-off slew rates, along with an integrated booster.

This ISO 26262-compliant driver includes active miller clamping for unipolar switching, super-fast DESAT protection with built-in self-test (BIST), and configurable soft turn-off functionality. It includes safety features such as shoot-through protection, supply voltage monitoring (UVLO, OVLO), gate and output stage monitoring, and a secondary side active short-circuit (SASC) function. This RoHS-compliant driver is available in a surface-mount package that measures 10.3 x 6.4 x 2.65 mm.
