The IX4352NETR from Littelfuse is a Low-Side SiC MOSFET and IGBT Gate Driver that is ideal for on-board chargers, DC-DC converters, electric vehicle charging stations, motor controller and power inverter applications. It requires an input voltage (TTL/CMOS-compatible) of up to 35 V and an input current of 9 A. This gate driver has separate source and sink outputs that allow for tailored turn-on and turn-off times while minimizing switching losses. It includes an internal charge pump regulator to support selectable negative gate drive bias, thereby dV/dt immunity and facilitating faster turn-off.
This gate driver saturation features detection circuitry that senses over-current conditions of the SiC MOSFET and initiates a soft turn-off to prevent damaging dV/dt events. It also includes internal level shifters that accommodate negative gate drive bias voltage levels. This gate driver provides under-voltage lockout (UVLO) detection and thermal shutdown with an open-drain FAULT output to signal fault conditions to an interfaced microcontroller. It is available in a thermally-enhanced surface-mount package that measures 9.9 x 3.9 mm.
