The Si82Ex Series from Skyworks Solutions are Automotive-Qualified Dual Channel Isolated Gate Drivers that are suitable for driving power silicon MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC FETs, and GaN FETs used in various switched power and motor control applications. They require an input voltage of 3-20 V. These gate drivers combine two isolated gate drivers into a single package and include devices with single or dual control inputs with independent or high-side/low-side outputs. These AEC-Q100-qualified gate drivers accept CMOS input, which provides a robust noise margin. They utilize Skyworks’ proprietary silicon isolation technology that offers an isolation voltage of up to 6 kV (RMS) for 1 minute and has a maximum gate driver supply voltage of 30 V.

The output stage of these gate drivers operates as a current source that maintains current output within a tight tolerance of the target across all operating conditions. These RoHS-compliant gate drivers also include under-voltage lockout (UVLO) of 4, 8, 12 and 15 V, dead time programmability, and defined output states in all operating conditions to offer safety to the ICs. They are available in surface-mount packages that measure 10.30 x 7.50 x 2.65 mm and are ideal for isolated switched-mode supplies, motor drives, power inverters, uninterruptable power supplies, onboard chargers and DC-DC converter applications.
