The AL58263QDKZW24-13 from Diodes Incorporated is an Automotive-Qualified 16-Channel LED Driver IC that is ideal for automotive sub-systems such as clusters, local dimming displays, front and back faceplates, center stack displays, interior and RGB lightings, HVAC control panels, gear shifter indicators, and exterior lightings. It requires an input voltage of 3-5 V and provides an output voltage of 15 V. This AEC-Q100 Grade 1-qualified driver is driven by a fast 25 MHz DCK-based input clock signal through a 4-Wire serial interface and provides an output current of up to 55 mA to each string of the LED (dimmable via pulse width modulation (PWM) mechanism). It can program and set the output current of each channel via a digital interface, and the output current of all the channels can be set by only a single external sensing resistor and a 6-bit global current control register. This LED driver IC ensures an accuracy of ±1.5% at the output (between channels) with a 16-bit Grayscale resolution. It can also be cascaded with up to 1440 devices to deliver an enhanced output current.
This driver is equipped with detection and diagnostics capabilities to prevent conditions such as LED open, LED short, output port leakage, output short-to-ground, and REXT short-to-ground. It can be switched to Zero Data and Sleep mode for power saving during operation. This RoHS-compliant LED driver has an exposed thermal pad with wettable flanks and is available in a surface-mount package that measures 3.90 x 3.90 mm.
