The NCP1370BDR2G from onsemi is a Quasi-Resonant LED Driver IC that is ideal for TV backlight and lighting with auxiliary power supply applications. It requires an input voltage of 9.5 V. This LED driver features quasi-resonant peak current-mode control to precisely regulate constant LED current from the primary side, thereby eliminating the need for a separate opto-coupler and delivering high efficiency. It allows programmable cycle-by-cycle peak current limits to optimize the design compatibility over a wide range of applications. This LED driver supports analog or digital-based light dimming and can also be combined to further enhance dimming precision. This LED driver has low supply on-voltage, which allows it to use a standby power supply to power the device. It features LED open circuit protection, VCC over-voltage protection, secondary diode short protection, output short circuit protection, shorted current sense pin fault detection, brown-out, under-voltage lockout, and thermal shutdown to prevent false trigger or over-current-related damages. This driver is available in a surface-mount package that measures 5 x 4 mm.
