The MPQ70240FS from Monolithic Power Systems is an Automotive Qualified 4 Rail Power Management IC. This PMIC consists of three highly efficient step-down DC-DC converters, an LDO voltage regulator, and a flexible logic interface. It has an input voltage from 2.5 to 16 V and provides on-timing control using the PLL technique that enables fast transient response and stable frequency. This PMIC has an adjustable output voltage and supports the PMBus interface to monitor the fault status and control the power-on sequence. It incorporates under-voltage lockout (UVLO), over-voltage (OV), over-current (OC), and thermal shutdown circuitries to protect the IC against short-circuit-related damages.
This AEC-Q100 qualified PMIC is integrated with sophisticated functional safety features such as an analog built-in self-testing (ABIST) and diagnostic analysis to support applications with high automotive safety integrity levels up to ASIL-B. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 2.5 × 3.5 mm with wettable flanks and is ideal for automotive camera modules, automotive secondary regulation, and automotive sensor and space-constrained applications.
