The OS1000-WAA from ORCA SEMICONDUCTOR is a Power Management IC that is designed for wearable devices that demand high efficiency and very low-quiescent current operation. It requires an input voltage of 8 - 36 V. This power management IC (PMIC) features a linear Li+ battery charge management system, two low quiescent buck regulators, and two low quiescent low dropout (LDO) linear regulators. It also includes a power path support, JEITA thermal safety monitoring, configurable step charge profiles, and multiple safety timers for robust operation.
This PMIC includes buck converters to support dynamic voltage scaling (DVS) modes via I2C communication or dedicated pins to facilitate voltage switching. It offers a very low current shelf mode, a multi-functional power button monitor, and four GPIO pins with alternate function assignment capabilities. This IC integrates an 8-bit ADC for direct battery thermistor value readings and a direct mode system powering method to streamline customer system testing. This PMIC is available in a surface-mount package that measures 2.585 x 2.085 mm and is ideal for medical wearables, true wireless stereo (TWS) hearables, and IoT device applications.
