The BB-100-POE4 from Advantech is an IEEE 802.3af-Compliant 4-Port Power-Over-Ethernet IC that is designed in a compact, space-saving package for powering PoE-capable devices where running an AC power feed is either not possible or cost-effective. It requires an input voltage of 46 V to 49 V. This PoE IC allows an end user to power a PoE camera, wireless access point, or any other PoE-capable device with a centralized battery backup, and delivers a high throughput of up to 0.8 Gbps while ensuring minimum downtime to satisfy industrial communications requirements. It provides four pairs of two RJ-45 10/100BaseTX copper ports with each pair consisting of one RJ-45 port that connects to an existing network, and one RJ-45 PoE-capable port that can transmit data to a PoE-capable device while offering isolation of data on all four pairs. This ABS-approved IC provides data and power to wireless LAN access points, network cameras, VoIP, and other PoE-capable devices, resulting in cost reductions for electrical wiring and requiring unmanaged operations. It has extended operating environmental specifications to meet the harsh needs of the industrial environment while providing dual redundant power inputs for increased reliability.
This IEEE 802.3af-compliant IC integrates two LEDs to allow easy monitoring of the two redundant power inputs along with a global power LED for power status or power bus fault indications. It is available in a hardened metal DIN rail-mount package that measures 107.1 x 37.8 mm.
