The MPQ5066-AEC1 from Monolithic Power Systems is an Automotive-Qualified Hot-Swap Protection Power Switch IC that has been designed to protect its input from undesired short-circuit and transient events coming from the output terminal. This switch requires an input voltage of 6 - 28 V. It incorporates an integrated power MOSFET, adjustable current limit, and a current monitor that conducts measurements with an accuracy of ±10%. This switch IC includes an external capacitor connected to the SS pin that regulates the output slew rate during start- up, effectively restricting the inrush current. It provides multiple fault protections, including current limit protection, thermal shutdown, and damaged-MOSFET detection, with configurable auto-retry or latch-off modes. This switch IC features fast response times for short-circuit protection, power good indication (PG), fault indication (FLTB), and under-voltage lockout (UVLO). This AEC-Q100-qualified power switch IC is available as a surface-mount package that measures 3 x 5 mm and is ideal for automotive infotainment, automotive clusters, advanced driver assistance systems, and automotive system applications.
