The SiP32460 from Vishay is a Slew Rate Controlled Load Switch IC that is designed to provide a slow slew rate to minimize in-rush current during turn-on conditions. This switch requires an input voltage of 1.2 - 5.5 V. It integrates a negative charge pump at the gate terminal to provide a high gate-to-source voltage when the IC is turned on, thereby resulting in a low drain-source on-resistance at lower input voltage levels. This load switch consists of a reverse blocking circuit to prevent the current from going back to the input when the output voltage is higher than the input voltage. It allows bidirectional switching operation and can be turned ON or OFF depending on whether the power is in or out. This RoHS-compliant load switch connects a pull-down resistor at the output to discharge the output capacitance when the device is OFF. It is available in a wafer-level package that measures 0.76 x 0.76 mm and is ideal for smartphones, GPS, portable media players, tablet computers, medical and healthcare equipment, industrial and instrumentation, and game console applications.
