The MKP1V130RLG from Littelfuse is an Axial-Leaded Sidac that can be directly interfaced with the ac power line. It has a break-over voltage of up to 140 V and a break-over current of less than 0.9 A. This Sidac switches from a blocking state to a low voltage on-state upon reaching the break-over voltage in each direction. It continues to remain in a conduction state until the main terminal current drops below the holding current. The Sidac is housed in a plastic axial lead casing that ensures high pulse current capability while maintaining low cost and is passivated with glass to improve overall reliability. It is available in a through-hole package that measures 0.161 x 0.079 inches and is ideal for triggering gates of SCRs and Triacs, high-pressure sodium vapor lighting, strobes and flashers, ignitors, high voltage regulators, and pulse generator applications.
