The AAHS298B-07-4020A-V from Microchip Technology is an 8-Channel Radiation-Hardened Source Driver IC that is ideal for relays, solenoid drivers, lamps, LED drivers, stepper motors and/or servo motor drivers, aerospace satellite manufacturers, and military power electronic control applications. It requires an input voltage of 10 - 50 V and an input current of 5 mA. This IC is typically used as a companion device for the LX7710 diode array to build redundant power switches. It is capable of delivering an output current of 700 mA from each output channel to various loads such as relays, solenoids, and motors and can withstand a voltage of up to 75 V.
This driver operates over a temperatue range from -55°C to +125°C and can withstand a total ionizing dose (TID) of 100 krad (Si), an ELDRS of 50 krad (Si), and other single event effects. It is also equipped with radiation-hardened thermal shutdown design that protects the IC during over-current and/or soft-start occurrences and diodes at the output for protection against transients and inductive kick-back. This IC is available in a QML-V/Q-certified, hermetically-sealed surface-mount package that measures 12.45 x 21.00 mm.
