The BD96811Fxx-C Series from ROHM Semiconductor are Automotive-Qualified Power Management ICs that are ideal for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), instrument cluster panels, and in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) applications. They require an input voltage of 2.7-5.5 V. These power management ICs (PMICs) are designed to be configurable and support functional safety (as per ASIL-D standard) for MCUs, FPGAs, SoCs, and application processors. They consist of a control logic (e.g. power sequencing, error detection), 4-channel multi-purpose, switching DC-DC regulators, single-channel LDO regulator, built-in MOSFETs, A/D converter, oscillators, and protection/monitoring circuitries. These AEC-Q100-qualified PMICs offer a scalable approach that uses an internal MOSFET to deliver an output current of up to 4 A.
These PMICs are equipped with a rich set of monitoring and protection capabilities such as Q&A watchdog timer, analog/digital/critical signal pins self-testing, under-voltage lockout, over-voltage protection, and thermal warning, thereby ensuring reliable and safe power management. They also support an I2C interface for data transfer in both fast mode (up to 400 MHz) and fast mode plus (up to 1 MHz) with cyclic redundancy check (CRC) mechanism. These ICs are available in surface-mount packages that measure 5 x 4.5 x 1 mm.
