The MWCT1003AVLH from NXP Semiconductors is an Automotive-Qualified Wireless Charging Transmitter Controller that has been designed to meet the latest WPC Qi standards (PMA protocol support available). It delivers an output power of up to 5 W. This controller utilizes rail voltage control or phase shift control with a fixed operating frequency to manage power transfer to reduce automotive system interference and uses standard power methods or Freescale touch sensor technology to detect receivers. It supports foreign object detection (FOD) to prevent overheating due to misplaced metallic objects.

This controller is equipped with various interfaces such as CAN, LIN, I2C, SCI, and SPI, allowing for seamless integration with automotive systems. It provides LED indicators for system status and incorporates over-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature protection to ensure safe operation. This controller offers frequency dithering to reduce peak emissions and a software-based approach that allows for design flexibility and product upgrades without the need for hardware modifications. This AEC-Q100-qualified coil is available in a surface-mount package and is ideal for automotive wireless power transmitter applications.
