The NV6128C from Navitas Semiconductor is a GaN Power IC that has been optimized for high-frequency and soft-switching topologies. It requires an input voltage of 10-30 V. This power management IC (PMIC) is designed to extend the capabilities of traditional topologies such as flyback, half-bridge, resonant LLC, buck, and boost to enable the commercial introduction of breakthrough designs. It monolithically integrates the FET transistor, driver, and logic gates, thereby resulting in an easy-to-use, digital-in, power-out, powertrain building block. This power IC offers high dV/dt immunity, and high-speed integrated drive operation in an industry-standard low-inductance package, which allows the designers to exploit Navitas GaN technology with simple, quick, and dependable solutions to achieve high power density and efficiency.
This PMIC is equipped with electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection and can withstand a voltage surge of up to 2 kV (HBM) and 1 kV (CDM). It has a low quiescent current consumption, has a large cooling pad to dissipate heat, and uses a CS resistor to further enhance the thermal performance. This RoHS-compliant GaN power IC is available in a surface-mount package that measures 6.00 x 8.00 x 0.85 mm. It is ideal for AC-DC/DC-DC converters, DC-AC inverters, QR flyback, LED lighting, TV, wireless power, server, and telecom applications.
